A bright light goes out

Katherine Hepburn was so much larger than any film she ever did. When I first saw her in Suddenly Last Summer, I remember thinking: this is why people love theater.

Writers must have loved Hepburn. She had a way of making everything that came out of her mouth feel like an eternal truth. It's funny how some celebrities can pass and you hardly remember their faces an hour after the news, but the world seems a little hollowed out without Katherine Hepburn in it. #
